This movie broke my heart in every way.

I knew Manchester by the Sea from the Oscar event. It wasn't played in my country cinemas #cmiiw. So I watched it online, so sorry for the movie crew.
Manchester by the Sea is a drama-romance movie I guess. The main role is Casey Affleck who played as Lee Chandler. He worked as a janitor in Boston. Hmm by the way.. First you watch the movie, you might get bored and it seems like an indie movie, or it actually is? The movie has back and forth plot. So, what I am going to tell you might help you understand the movie (not the whole story of course).
Lee Chandler was an unhappy man and he lived by himself in Boston, far from his hometown, Manchester. One day his older brother, Joe Chandler, died, so Lee must go back to Manchester. He had to take care of the funeral, and his brother's son, Patrick. As the story goes, we found out that Lee had left his hometown because of a pain, a self-blame, that his own three children died in fire. His ex-wife couldn't handle the pain too and left him. Lee even tried to shoot himself, but it didn't succeed. Then he decided to left his hometown.
After reading his brother wills, he found out that he became Patrick's guardian, because Joe had separated with his wife and the she couldn't be reached. Therefore he had to stay with him in Manchester until Patty reach certain age. Patty couldn't move to Boston because of his school, activities, and he had to take care his father's boat. It was really hard for Lee. On the funeral day, he met the ex-wife who was pregnant and accompanied by her spouse. Nah...
"I can't beat it. I can't beat it. I'm sorry." Lee said slowly.
Manchester by the sea is 137 minutes long. Over two hours, but it really is worth my time. As I know that it gets nominated in Oscar, I have guessed the movie would be boring somehow. But it wasn't. I love how Casey plays as Lee who get burdened by such a pain. Yes, he deserves the award! I also appreciate Patrick's character as a real teenage boy. He tried to act cool to his father death, but then he expressed that he didn't like his father being kept in the freezer until the winter ended. Well, this movie isn't all teary in every second. But I cried really hard for some scene. I can feel how hard the pain Lee carried by himself. I wanna curse his ex-wife for leaving him, but on the other way I can understand that she couldn't stand it with Lee.
After all, I really recommend Manchester by the Sea to be watched on your leisure time. At some point, without you even realize, your tear is gonna fall and wet your chin. Have a good time!
